Map Colour Considerations

I have started to look at what colours to use in my map, I have taken my colour swatches from the infographics I have been designing to keep some colour consistency throughout my designs. Here I have just started looking at the basic backround colour for the sea area.

Here I have started to consider the land area aswell as the sea, I am using half tones of each colour for each map, the sea is 75% or 50% of the colour used on the land.

Here I have also coloured the lines that show the sea areas in the same tone as the land areas, I think I like these designs best out of the lot, I am now going to start to consider changing the colour of the land area and adding in the names of the sea areas.
