Pattern & Texture Devlopment

I have tested out one of my ideas for my animation, I want to have a brown/brown paper texture/backgroud with the names of the patterns cut out of it, revealing the pattern underneath. For my first attempt of trying this I am doing it by hand to see how it will look.

I am trying it with Japanese patterns, I have printed out the word in two of my possibly type faces to start with, Futura and Tahoma in both upper and lower case.

I have changed the tracking on both to 40 as I am going to be cutting the letters out so if they are too close together they will rip and tear easily.
