Timeline Workshop

In todays workshop we started to look at timelines, when working off screen you always work in seconds, unlike when you are working on Afer Effects when you work in frames per second. When we started to work with timelines I suddenly realsied sometimes counting isn't as simple as I once thought!

We started by taking our screen grabs that we look at equal intervals throughout the piece of kinetic type we found, mine was 30 seconds long so I split mine equally every 1.2 seconds as it was a 60cm line which represented 30 seconds and I had 25 frames to fit in the time.

The next thing we did was to take our screen grabs that we look at moments we thought showed an important change in the video and mapped them out on a timeline. This was a lot harder because the screen grabs were not taken at regular intervals.

We have been asked to answer some questions based on what we ahve learnt in this session:

-What is a key frame?
