InDesign Workshop

This is the InDesign document we have been given, it has 8 mistakes that we need to find, what we do know is that its a 4 page doc and it can use 5 printing plates when its printed.

 1. The first mistake we found was that it needed 7 plates to be printed, two of the colours were not being used do need to be removed before printing so only the 5 plates needed are printed.

 2. Another problem was on the first page of the document the yellow background did not go all the way to the bleed.

 3. This image is RGB and needs to be converted to CMYK.

4. The link for the tree is missing, if this happen you would have to try and find it or contact the person who sent you the original file and get the missing file.

 5. The file size is too big, it will be a problem when sending the file, it will be an issue for other people to open, all the others are 463x312. To solve this we can change it in Photoshop.

6. The text on the last page is registration, it means to much ink is being used it will print 100% of each ink being used, it will saturate the page when its printed and bleed.

7. The blue background is RGB is should be CMYK.

8. The image is 72dpi which is resolution for screen it should be 300dpi.

--------------------------------------

File-Package, to group all the files you are using in your document together.

You can check through all the settings you've used in the document.

After you have saved it you can add any instructions you want to attach when sending it to your printer.

Another way of doing this is to export as a PDF.

You are given a list of PDF formats to choose from.
A small file size is good for e-mailing if you want to send your PDF for someone to view on screen.
Commercial print would be Press quality option.
High quality option would be good fro a laser printer.

Background tasks shows you whats happening after you have exported your PDF.

If your not ready to package yet you can use the preflight options to see whats happening.
