No News Is Good News-Text & Image Poster Designs

For my text and image poster I took the image and text from my other two posters to keep my posters working as a series. I decided to use the black background from my text poster because I think the type works better and stands out more with white on black. I then reversed my image to it was white on black, I also think the red works well on the black.

Our three posters need to work as a set or series so I continued the blood theme from the text poster and the colour scheme from the text poster. Using illustrator I tried to make the effect of the country of Iraq bleeding, showing the suffering is peoplehave gone through. I will carry on this theme through into my image and text poster.

No News Is Good News-Ideas

Before I started to work on illustrator I experimented with looking at how to make it look like Iraq was bleeding, as it was recently Halloween I had some fake blood left over and I started to play around with it and see what would happen. I am going to take these images and scan them in to start using on illustrator.

These are the first drafts of some ideas I have had for my text only poster design, we are restricted to only using two colours plus stock, I have experimented with using red as a spot colour as I feel it works well with the content my phrase . I reversed the colours which I think adds higher impact to the poster so I am going to develop the black stock posters further.

No News Is Good News

From the research we collected over reading week we were asked to come up with one statement of fact and one statement of opinion that summerised our research. My fact was-

In the six year period of the Iraq war there has been 109,000 deaths.

My opinion-

'It is horrible to hear what has gone on and the suffering the Iraqi people have had to live through during the war'

Our fact is the what we are going to be basing our work on for the next stage of the brief which is to design three posters, one with just text, which will be our fact, one with just image and one with both type and image.

Visual Language-Working Across Three Dimensions

Today in Visual Language we looked at working in 3D, looking at scale, planes and frame, I was in a group with Frankie, Joe and Will and we decided to work with the letter M. Our letter had to made up of at least 3 sections, we looked at a range of scales and view points.
